REVIEW of Aoleon the Martian Girl: Part 5 The Great Pyramid of Cydonia by Brent LaVasseur -- Blog Tour

Reviewing the fifth book in the Aoleon the Martian Girl saga is somewhat bittersweet, because it signals the end of such an amazing journey. This series made me realize that Science Fiction with some graphics, though not my genre, can be truly entertaining and even addicting. Seeing it come to a close though with its final installment, The Great Pyramid of Cydonia, is both exciting and saddening. But we'll stick to the happy note and end this series with a bang.

SYNOPSIS:
Aoléon, Gilbert, Bizwat, Helios, and Zoot make it to their final destination - Cydonia where Aoléon’s parents are being held captive. They infiltrate a secret underground base and are confronted by a small army of sentrybots.

Bizwat lends Aoléon and Gilbert some of his advanced combat skills via a psionic brain dump. However, this may not be enough to save them from overwhelming hostile forces that will do anything to stop them.

They finally meet Pax - the Martian who originally set them out on the mission to discover the truth about the Luminon and his plans to invade Earth. However Pax is not who he seems to be, and through a turn of events, they uncover the true power behind all that has been happening on Mars.

Will they be able to rescue Aoléon’s parents and save Earth from invasion?

Join Aoleon and Gilbert in the conclusion to this exciting middle-grade science fiction and fantasy adventure!

REVIEW:
So the action-packed adventure of Gilbert, a normal farm boy, and Aoleon, a teenage Martian girl continues, this time with the stakes so much higher. They're trying to rescue Aoleon's parents from the hand of an evil alien lord, as well as saving earth from an alien invasion. Shouldn't be too hard, eh? I absolutely love how deeper and twistier (is that a word?) the story gets. There's just no taking a break for our two leads. As usual, the story is fast-paced, mind-boggling, and action-packed. From the first instalment to the last, author Brent LeVasseur was consistent in making the excitement grow.

As to be expected, the language used was intelligent and mature. No room for small and shallow words here! It's crazy how much I forget that this is supposedly intended for middle school-aged readers. The graphics is stunning and detailed, as usual, and it shouldn't come as a surprise either since it has been getting better and better from book one. I wouldn't be saying any more, but I will leave you with this; you are in for a very exciting and fun ride.
