Heartbreak at its Finest #AtoZChallenge
So I've made a list (yes, I am a fan of lists) of heartbreaking books that are worth reading. Honestly, most of them I haven't read yet, but am definitely interested in doing so. Let's read 'em together!
>>> A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
If you haven't read the book, then I'm pretty sure you've at least seen the movie. If you have, then you know why it's on the list. It deals with young love, illness, and ultimately...death. (I don't consider this a spoiler, since EVERYONE already knows it.)
>>> Love Always, Kate by D. Nichole King
Another novel that tackles unconditional love and cancer. I think this is different from others of its kind, but I'll let you read it and be the judge.
>>> My Skylar by Penelope Ward
The reviews about this are pretty mixed up. But basically, it's so frustratingly painful that you just want to stop reading...but won't and can't.
>>> Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
This book is gaining more popularity because of the upcoming movie starring Nick Bateman. *squeal* I haven't read it yet though, but I am planning to. It comes highly recommended.
>>> Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines
Best Selling Author Abbi Glines has a way of making things very painful -- emotionally -- for people. Just a personal observation.
>>> Present Perfect by Alison G. Bailey
Someone commented on Goodread, "This book is hazardous to your emotional health! Proceed with caution. You have been warned." I think that's a pretty good indication that this novel will cause a few sniffling...or tears...a lot of tears.
>>> Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan
So far, all I've read are good reviews. And I think the plot is unique and interesting, so I'm sure the heartbreak will be intense.
>>> What's Left of Me by Amanda Maxlyn
One more cancer story. But this time, the person survives!! How awesome is that? It's still a very emotion-murdering book though.
>>> The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller by L.B. Simmons
This is a dark book that is for readers with an open mind. Lots of wonderful reviews.
>>> Greek Billionaire Series by Marian Tee
Almost all of Best Selling Author Marian Tee's books have made me cry. She's good at breaking people's hearts. It's a real gift.
Join me in crying -- reading -- join me in reading these wonderful books, and please let me know what you guys think.
I prefer laughing while reading. sorry! :) but have a good... cry?read? :D
ReplyDeleteHaha! Well I can't fault you for that. I love a good laugh too, but I have my masochistic days. LOL. ;)
Deletea happy ending definitely can leave us feeling good, but more than always having happy endings I prefer realistic endings. Sometimes the neat happy ending can seem overly contrived and leaves me rolling my eyes whereas a sad, frightening, or disappointing ending can leave me thinking for days and I end up remembering the story more because it seemed more real.

Tossing It Out
I get the exact same feeling. Relationships in real life don't always end up on a happy note because of different circumstances. May it be their own fault, caused by illnesses, or even by accidents. It's a sad true, but a truth nonetheless.
DeleteThanks so much for following me! :-) followed you back on Twitter and am about to go to your site and follow you back. :)
