Review of Storms of Passion by Lori Power

Romance has always been my genre of choice. I have read hundreds of books in this category, so I always try to look for something new and unique. A romance book with a story I would never forget or confuse for anything else. When I was given the opportunity to read Storms of Passion, I immediately jumped on it! Why would I say "No" to a thing that promises to give me what I yearn for? Here's my review that I'd like to share with you all.

SYNOPSIS:

Vivian Margaret is tired of reading about other people's romances. She craves adventure. After a fortuneteller shines a mirror on her innermost longings, Vivian enrolls in a sailing course on the other side of the country.

Reservist rescue swimmer and tech specialist, Tucker MacLean has been there and done that, and is not going to fall for a woman any time soon. That is until he quite literally collides with Vivian.

Out of her element, she rediscovers her strength of character and a stubborn ambition to cling to hope when all seems lost.

Not realizing the depth of his intense emotional attachment until a surprise storm threatens Vivian's life, Tuck must find her and bring her back from the heart of the storm. Passion drives him, love sustains him.

REVIEW:

If I were to judge a book based on its synopsis, Storms of Passion will be getting such high praises from me. But the problem I have with books I get excited for is that they usually fall short of my expectations. Does that mean this one did too? Let me think for a moment... Nope! It didn't. Lori Power created such a wonderful story with characters that are interesting on their own but amazing with each other. I got exactly what I was promised; romance, a bit of humor, drama, suspense, and a whole lot more. There were a few cheesy moments of course, but I think that's the norm nowadays. Besides, no matter how much we say we hate cliches, when your man treats you like his queen, you'll still swoon.

Going back to the book; I adored Vivian. She's such a strong-willed woman who chooses to fight and never give up. She wants to discover her true self, as well as start living her life--for real. May I just say, that I kind of envy her. She gets to read books for a living! That's awesome! Though there are some things in her life that aren't [awesome]. *Awkward silence* Anyway, I loved Lori's approach in sharing with us glimpses of what Vivian was reading. Page one gave me a shock actually. I won't be giving too much away but I will say this: this book feels very real. It's not too far fetched... well, almost... and every scenario can happen to just about anyone. It's quite realistic.

SUMMARY:

This is such a well-written book, penned by a very inspired and talented author. I can't wait to read more of Lori's works. I'll definitely be supporting her.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Turning passion into words in print is a dream come true for Lori Power.

From Radio host (best job ever!), DJ, news reporter to newspaper journalist, like many author’s, Lori has been involved in the writing process most of her life.

In writing, Lori has discovered a truism: everyone has a great story to tell. All you need to do is listen. Over the years, with all the people Lori has meet previously and daily, both professionally and personally, with an ear to the ground, readers can often find these ‘character’s’ fictionalized.

Lori’s first novel “Storms of Passion” was published by Wild Rose Press under their Champagne line, in 2014.

Collaboration is important to improving one’s craft and as such, Lori is an active member of the TransCanada Romance Writers, Romance Writers of America, The Alberta Romance Writers Association and belongs to both a Critiquing group and a Beta Reading weekly group.

Lori looks forward to continuing to find the good story; hashing out a scene, having fun with a character and writing the story she would love to read.
